Vacancy

Field service engineer

Location Glabbeek, Flemish Brabant, Belgium Contract type Indefinite time Hours 40 hrs/week Work schedule Day Specialisation Engineering

Function

  • As a field service engineer, you ensure that advanced machines and peripheral equipment for fruit and vegetable processing operate reliably at customer sites, both during installation and in day-to-day use.
  • Analysing faults, identifying technical root causes and implementing lasting solutions form an important part of your work. You combine mechanical, electrical and control engineering knowledge to do so.
  • You install, commission and test machines on-site, ensuring that the operation, safety and performance meet expectations.
  • Preventive maintenance and targeted improvements reduce downtime and increase the operational reliability of the installations. You carefully record your activities and findings.
  • As a service technician, you communicate directly with customers and explain technical information clearly. This ensures they understand what is happening and how problems can be prevented in the future.
  • You work closely with colleagues from engineering, R&D, production and assembly. Feedback from the field helps to further improve new technologies, hardware and software.
  • The role combines independent on-site work with consultation and technical follow-up from the organisation in Glabbeek. This gives you a broad perspective on both the machines and their further development.

Profile

  • You bring approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in a technical service role, for example as a field service engineer, maintenance technician or service technician.
  • A solid foundation in mechanics, electrical engineering and industrial automation helps you to investigate complex faults systematically and resolve them practically.
  • You can interpret technical diagrams, manuals and digital information, and you record interventions accurately. Knowledge of software or operating systems is an advantage when it aligns with your technical background.
  • Independence is important because you make decisions on-site, but you also seek consultation in good time when collaboration with engineering or R&D offers the best solution.
  • You communicate calmly and with a client-focused approach, even when a machine is at a standstill. That combination of technical insight, sense of responsibility and clear communication makes your interventions effective.

Organisation

Our client has a leading global position in fully automated and integrated sorting and packaging systems for fruit and vegetables. Its production, sales and logistics offices are located in key fruit and vegetable regions worldwide.

Offer

  • You will receive a market-competitive salary in line with your relevant experience and technical expertise.
  • In addition to your salary, you can count on an attractive and transparent package of fringe benefits, tailored to the role and the organisational context.
  • You work from Glabbeek and are active on-site for interventions, installations and maintenance. The specific planning and practical arrangements will be discussed clearly during the selection process.
  • You will join a compact organisation where technology is developed, produced and assembled in-house. This means you can directly see how your knowledge contributes to machines that are continually evolving.
  • You are given the space to deepen your expertise in new solutions, hardware and software. Collaboration with experienced colleagues from technical, engineering and R&D teams supports your further growth as a field service engineer and service technician.
