Customs Compliance Specialist
Function
As a Customs Compliance Specialist in Antwerp, you will be responsible for correctly monitoring, checking and processing customs compliance-related documents within an international logistics environment. You will support a small operational team and help ensure the timely processing of files, reports and outstanding items, with a focus on quality, accuracy and compliance with applicable customs regulations.
In this role, you will combine administrative precision with customer-focused support and a strong sense of responsibility. You will work closely with colleagues in brokerage and operations, proactively follow up on discrepancies and ensure that customs processes run smoothly and in compliance with regulations.
- Receiving, registering and following up on customs letters and other compliance documents.
- Checking monthly customs files and carrying out file audits.
- Monitoring daily exit confirmations for air freight.
- Managing the compliance mailbox and prioritising outstanding tasks.
- Monitoring and processing outstanding T1 and export documents.
- Monitoring bonded warehouse and temporary storage reports.
- Provide support with client reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
- To assist with the implementation of new customs legislation and requirements.
- Monitoring of Data Management and Denied Party Screening.
- Checking event codes in the transport management system.
- Providing support to admin agents and customer service where necessary.
- Reporting to the Product Manager and working closely with the Brokerage Manager.

Profile
For this role, we are looking for an experienced and meticulous professional with 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in customs, brokerage or a similar logistics environment. You will feel at home in an administratively demanding role where compliance, follow-up and a customer-focused approach are key.
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience, with knowledge of PLDA, NCTS, EDMS and IDMS.
- Experience in ocean or air import/export is an advantage.
- Strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
- Good knowledge of Dutch, English and French.
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Be able to work independently, but also function effectively within a small team.
- Good social and communication skills in a customer-focused environment.
- Stress-resistant, keen to learn and able to manage several cases at the same time.
- Willingness to undertake further training and, where necessary, to provide support outside office hours.
Relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in logistics, customs or compliance would be an advantage. An affinity for precise processes and regulatory compliance is essential.

- Gross monthly salary between €3,200 and €4,500, depending on your experience.
- Full-time position of 38 hours per week with flexible working hours.
- After 6 months’ service: 1 day of remote working every 2 weeks.
