Transport planner

Function

As a transport planner, you ensure that container transports from the port of Antwerp are organised practically, correctly and on time. You translate customer assignments into clear transport orders within a digital planning environment.

• You manage the planning of container transports. You take into account available drivers, operational agreements, time windows and changes along the way.
• You maintain direct contact with customers and clearly align expectations, assignments and any adjustments. This way, all parties involved know exactly where they stand.
• From the planning side, you provide clear instructions to internal drivers. You ensure they have the right information to carry out their routes efficiently and safely.
• Good collaboration with operational and administrative departments is essential. You share relevant information in a timely manner and help resolve bottlenecks quickly.
• Administrative follow-up is also part of your responsibility: you process transport documents such as CMRs, interchanges and other documents associated with container transport.
• You work in an operational logistics environment within a family business with warehouses and its own multipurpose terminal in Antwerp. The culture is engaged and results-driven, with short lines of communication and room to further develop your knowledge of transport planning.

• You have several years of experience in transport planning, specifically in container transport in the port of Antwerp.
• A logistics background and a level of thinking in line with a bachelor's degree help you to quickly identify connections, set priorities and manage several assignments simultaneously.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English and can express yourself in French at a basic level. This is important in order to inform customers, drivers and internal colleagues correctly.
• You use MS Office with ease and learn to work with digital planning and administrative systems without difficulty.
• Even when the planning changes or pressure increases, you maintain oversight. You work accurately, communicate clearly and make decisions with an eye for feasibility and service.

Organisation

Our client is a family business within the port of Antwerp. They operate 150,000 m² of warehouses and run their own multipurpose terminal. You will join a dynamic operational environment where a young team gives its best every day.
