Function

As Freight forwarder export Based in Antwerp, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of sea freight export consignments. You will ensure that every consignment is correctly tracked, processed to a high administrative standard and moves smoothly from departure to arrival.

In this role, you will combine operational precision with customer contact and coordination across multiple links in the logistics chain. You will work alongside terminals, warehouses, shipping agents, hauliers, customers and internal colleagues to ensure a flawless service.

Your main tasks:

• receiving, preparing and following up on dispatch files;
• issuing loading and unloading instructions to terminals and/or warehouses;
• tracking consignments from dispatch to delivery;
• checking invoices and administrative records;
• maintaining good relations with customers, shipping agencies, transport partners and internal teams;
• ensuring that cases are handled correctly, in a timely manner and with a focus on the customer;
• contributing ideas on how to ensure the team operates efficiently and in a structured manner.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a motivated candidate with some initial relevant experience in sea freight or a keen interest in learning more about this field. You work with attention to detail, have strong communication skills and thrive in an environment where administration, planning and customer focus come together.

Your profile:

• You should preferably hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in logistics or a related field;
• you have some initial experience in sea freight and freight forwarding;
• you have a good understanding of maritime processes and a basic knowledge of Incoterms;
• you are proficient in MS Office and pick up new systems quickly;
• you’re good at administration, follow-up and organisation;
• you communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing;
• you have a very good command of Dutch, French and English;
• you have a customer-focused and solution-oriented approach;
• You can work independently, but also work extremely well as part of a team;
• You enjoy working in a structured way and are able to assess priorities correctly.
