Freight forwarder

Function

Our client, a prominent player in the steel sector, is looking for an enthusiastic Freight forwarder to strengthen the team in Antwerp. If you choose this role, these are your responsibilities:

• You follow up on files from quotation to shipment for both import and export.
• You handle various types of cargo and transport files, including breakbulk, LCL, FCL, project cargo and crosstrade.
• You monitor the various deadlines and schedules and ensure that all parties involved take the necessary actions in a timely manner.
• You are an important point of contact for clients, suppliers and other parties involved, and ensure professional and customer-focused communication.
• You coordinate the various steps within a file and maintain an overview, even when multiple shipments and deadlines run simultaneously.
• You ensure that the operational administration of each file is processed correctly and completely.
• You help ensure the correct follow-up of incoming and outgoing invoicing.
• You flag potential issues or delays in a timely manner and work together with the parties involved to find an appropriate solution.
• You contribute to a smooth, accurate and high-quality service in which both customer satisfaction and good collaboration with suppliers are central.

Profile

Do you recognise yourself in the profile below? Do not hesitate and get in touch:

• Several years of experience in a similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of import and export processes.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English. You use all three languages on a regular basis.
• Basic skills in Excel.
• Experience in drafting and managing files.
• A proactive and accurate approach.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
