Claims Manager
Function
As a claims handler, you will be responsible for the full management of claims files.
- You will handle claims from start to finish.
- You will maintain contact with clients throughout the various stages of the case.
- In the event of a claim, you will visit the scene if necessary to assess the situation in person.
- You will ensure that each case is properly followed up administratively.
- You keep customers informed and ensure they know where they stand.
- You’ll work closely with colleagues across the offices and step in where needed.
- If you have the capacity alongside your claims management work, you can also take on other insurance-related activities.
- You identify commercial opportunities with clients and pass these on to colleagues who will take them forward.
The role offers opportunities to take on further responsibilities. Are you interested, for example, in underwriting, advising clients or other aspects of insurance? If so, they’d be happy to work with you to identify your interests and strengths.
Profile
For this role, preference will be given to someone who already has experience in the insurance sector.
- You preferably have experience in claims management or within the insurance sector.
- You work meticulously and keep track of cases in a structured manner.
- You’re a good communicator and believe it’s important to provide personalised assistance to customers.
- You take responsibility for your cases and enjoy taking the initiative.
- You are willing to attend the scene in the event of an accident.
- You’ll spot commercial opportunities with clients without having to constantly go out and find new business yourself.
- You are flexible and see it as a matter of course to help your colleagues when things get busy.
- You enjoy working in an environment where trust and autonomy are key.
Knowledge of specific insurance products is not an absolute requirement: the various insurance companies offer training courses, as well as opportunities for online training and self-study.
Organisation
You will be joining an insurance firm with two branches in the Knokke-Heist and Moerkerke area, which combines banking and insurance activities. The team consists of three partners and around fourteen staff members, some of whom work part-time.
A personal approach is key. The firm aims to meet clients in person as often as possible and to be mindful when someone comes in with a claim or other enquiry. This way of working fosters strong client relationships and forms an important part of the service we provide.
You’ll be working in a young team with a flat and open structure. There are no individual sales targets: the team works towards group targets, and results are reviewed together on a regular basis.
You’ll also be given the freedom to organise your own work. There are short one-to-one meetings every two weeks, and each year there is a more in-depth review of your performance and development.
Offer
You’ll be offered a role in which personalised service, autonomy and a good work-life balance are key.
- A full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.
- A 4/5 part-time role is open to discussion.
- Flexible working hours, tailored to the office’s opening hours and operations.
- 20 leave days + bank holidays.
- Meal vouchers of €8 per day worked.
- Hospitalisation insurance.
- Cafeteria plan.
- A remuneration package tailored to your experience.
- Limited opportunities to work from home, depending on the role and how the organisation operates.
- Training opportunities offered by the various insurance companies.
- An open and flat organisational structure characterised by a high degree of trust and autonomy.
- A young and supportive team that regularly organises activities together.
- Various team activities throughout the year and a joint end-of-year event with our partners.
Important: the role is preferably based at the Knokke office, but depending on how the two offices are organised in future, the place of work may eventually change to Moerkerke.
