For our client we are looking for a Senior Financial Controller to strengthen their team.

• You will be in charge for Financial support, guidance & management of their fleet of vessels for their dredging activities.
• You faces the challenge of supporting the vessel manager during the entire vessel’s life cycle, meaning from newbuilding till the end of a vessel’s lifetime.
• You will perform a financial function with coordinating responsibilities in a technical environment.
• Their vessels are build, maintained and repaired worldwide.
• A summary of your responsibilities;
• Providing a complete overview of all financial aspects of the fleet.
• Performing in depth financial planning and budgeting of operating budgets.
• Participating in meetings and liaising with dock supervisors on the follow-up of budgets and financial results of major vessel repairs.
• Reporting together with the Vessel Manager the performance of the fleet towards the management and advise them together with the technical department in financial matters, acting as an integrated business partner.
• Performing ad-hoc analyses upon request of the management.
• You have an eagle-eye and analyze the figures, create insights about potential savings and improvements.

Our client is a world leader with more than 140 years of experience. They operate internationally and are specialized in dredging works, offshore, infra marine and environmental works.

You will be working in a very diverse team that includes more than 70 different nationalities.

What are the qualifications required to fill the position of Senior Financial Controller:

• You have a bachelor or master degree in economics, finance or accounting.
• You have experience in cost controlling and financial auditing.
• Experience in a technical environment is an asset.
• You are fluent in English and have good communication skills.
• Microsoft Excel has no secrets for you.
• You have a strong technical affinity.
• You have a proven track record in a coordinating role and are keen on teamwork at different levels within the organisation.
• You are open to travel abroad; occasionally and ad hoc visiting the vessels (+/- 10% of your time).
