Technical Support Engineer
Function
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be a key point of contact for professional partners and end customers. You will handle technical enquiries and after-sales cases, and ensure that issues are properly analysed and followed up.
You will work closely with, amongst others, the technical team, logistics and the field service team. As well as the technical side of things, the role also involves the necessary administrative tasks and customer communication.
- You are the first point of contact for technical enquiries from dealers and end customers.
- You analyse technical problems and help to find an appropriate, customer-focused solution.
- You will handle enquiries, complaints and service requests and follow them through from start to finish.
- You will process and follow up on warranty and after-sales cases.
- You should track orders and deliveries via the ERP system.
- You will ensure smooth communication between customers, the logistics department and the technical team.
- You will support the technical field service team with administrative and practical follow-up tasks.
- You will keep accurate records of technical and administrative files.
- You communicate professionally with customers, even when dealing with a technical issue or a complex discussion.
- As a Technical Support Engineer, you will help to deliver a high-quality service and build long-term customer relationships.
Profile
For this role as a Technical Support Engineer, we are looking for someone who can combine technical knowledge with strong communication skills. You do not necessarily need to come from exactly the same sector: a sound grounding in electrical and mechanical engineering and the ability to get to the root of technical problems are more important.
- Ideally, you will have a bachelor’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience.
- You have a good technical understanding of electricity and mechanics.
- A basic understanding or knowledge of gas is an advantage.
- You have an analytical and problem-solving mindset and enjoy getting to the root cause of a technical problem.
- You are customer-focused and feel comfortable dealing directly with business clients and end users.
- Even more challenging or complex customer conversations don’t put you off.
- You work accurately and have an eye for detail.
- You have strong administrative skills and are able to manage several technical cases at the same time.
- Experience with ERP software and standard office programmes is an advantage.
- Experience as a Technical Support Engineer, After-Sales Engineer or in another technical service role would be an advantage.
- Experience in a technical production environment is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Dutch is an absolute must.
- In addition, you can express yourself fluently in French and English.
- Knowledge of other languages is an added asset.
Organisation
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be joining a Belgian manufacturer that has been developing and producing high-quality, technically advanced design products for over twenty years. The products are designed and manufactured at the company’s site in the Evergem area, with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship.
The company combines design with technology and now offers an extensive range of over a hundred models. The products are distributed internationally through a network of over a hundred professional distributors.
Despite this international presence, you’ll find yourself working within a relatively compact organisation with short lines of communication. Based in a modern industrial complex, various departments work closely together on development, production, logistics, sales and technical services.
Offer
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be offered a full-time role offering responsibility, autonomy and ample opportunity to further develop your technical expertise. You will be working in a modern working environment within a Belgian organisation that operates internationally.
