Technical Support Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer on behalf of our client, a well-established provider of backup power and emergency power solutions for data centres, the chemical industry and critical infrastructure.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be involved in backup power projects from start to finish: from drawing up quotations and technical calculations to coordinating between customers, sales and service. You will be the main point of contact for existing customers and play a key role in securing new projects.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Analysing customer needs and technical situations
• Preparing accurate cost estimates and drawing up quotations for battery and emergency power projects
• Providing technical support and advice to customers (primarily in data centres, the chemical sector and industry)
• Active monitoring of projects, from application through to installation and handover
• Coordination between the commercial and technical departments
• Maintaining contact with customers and further developing existing relationships
• Help drive growth in the data centre sector with your hands-on approach
• Occasional site visits for technical assessment or handover
• Depending on your knowledge and ambition, the role can be filled in a more technical and operational or commercial capacity, and there are opportunities for training and development.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, Energy Engineering or relevant experience
• A basic understanding of electricity is essential; an interest in backup power, UPS systems, emergency power systems or battery projects is an advantage
• Experience in cost estimates, quotations or project support is an advantage but not essential
• Customer-focused, a good communicator and not afraid to take the initiative when dealing with customers
• Working in an analytical, precise and organised manner
• Organisational skills, with a strong ability to coordinate projects and plan assignments/installations
• Proficient in Dutch; knowledge of English or French would be an advantage
• You’d like to be versatile: from cost estimates to technical follow-up and customer relations
