Technical Account Manager

For our client, an innovative player on the market of industrial installations and machines, we are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Account Manager with a sense of initiative. Discover this challenging field sales position where variety, autonomy and growth are key!

As Technical Account Manager, you are the point of contact for both existing and new customers in the border region of Southern Belgium and Northern France. You focus on business development and customer follow-up and work daily on long-term customer relations in the industry:

  • You will visit customers on site and take the time to understand their needs and technical requirements.
  • You will identify customer needs, create clear reports and translate these internally to the engineers.
  • You will manage a wide client base, with support during the first few years from the experienced colleague/account manager whose network you will take over completely over time.
  • You dive into engineering: you professionally explain the machines, installations, technology and consumables to your customers.
  • You are a real networker and make sure you are known by operators and technicians.
  • You will work with the inside sales team so that you get to know the entire workflow.
  • You plan your working week efficiently: most of the time you are on the road, sometimes spending several days in France visiting different customers.
  • You end your day by correctly reporting and following up on your visits.

Profile

  • You are commercially minded and interested in technical products or solutions.
  • You have a higher degree in a technical field (electromechanics, industrial design, etc.) or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience as a (field) account manager, sales engineer or technical representative is a plus, but not a must!
  • You like autonomy, enjoy being on the road and have no problem combining intensive client visits (4-5 days a week) with reporting.
  • You speak fluent Dutch, French and English.
  • You work in a structured way, can prioritise and have a positive, inquisitive mindset.
  • You are willing to travel frequently between Aartselaar and the region in which you operate.
  • You are stress-resistant, socially adept and highly committed to customer satisfaction.
