• As a Quantity Surveyor, you translate plans, specifications and bills of quantities into a reliable cost price for large-scale construction and renovation projects in Brussels. Your preparation forms the basis for strong and feasible project proposals.
• You thoroughly analyse tender documents, check their completeness and calculate the cost price from A to Z, paying attention to materials, quantities, execution methods and risks.
• You request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. You critically compare the proposals received against the technical requirements, contractual conditions and client expectations.
• By exploring alternatives and optimisations, you help make projects technically, financially and practically stronger. For renovation projects, you pay particular attention to reuse and circular construction solutions.
• You flag potential execution issues, missing information and commercial opportunities in a timely manner, so that the project team can get started with a clear and well-substantiated file.
• You work alongside an experienced estimating team in Brussels and exchange knowledge with estimators from other regional offices. This collaboration gives you access to broad expertise and different perspectives.
• In consultation with the Estimating Manager, you align your approach and priorities. At the same time, you are given sufficient autonomy to manage files independently, take initiative and further develop your expertise.
• You work from Brussels on projects within a stable construction organisation that delivers large design-and-build and renovation projects for both private and public clients.

Profile

Are you accurate down to the last detail?

• You have at least five years of relevant experience as an Estimator, cost estimator or construction cost specialist at a professional construction company. Experience with larger construction projects, renovation or class 8 contracting is a distinct advantage.
• A construction-related qualification or equivalent practical knowledge helps you to quickly and correctly interpret plans, specifications, bills of quantities and construction methods.
• You work accurately and analytically: figures must be correct, but you also look beyond them at risks, feasibility and possible optimisations.
• You can manage files independently whilst communicating clearly with colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors and project stakeholders. This communicative mindset is important for gathering information in a timely manner and substantiating decisions.
• You are proficient with common software applications and preferably have experience with estimating software. For projects in Brussels, a good professional knowledge of French is important; knowledge of Dutch supports collaboration with colleagues and partners.

You will be part of an experienced estimating team whilst working closely with a tight-knit local team. From the office in Anderlecht, you will contribute to the future of the Brussels operation. In due course, the office will relocate to a new circular office building near Tour & Taxis, which the organisation itself is developing.
