Purchase department administrative assistant
Function
- As a Logistic Support Officer, you strengthen a purchasing team within an international organisation with German roots, active in medical and safety technology for, amongst others, hospitals, fire services, and industrial clients.
- For the Safety department, you request quotes from suppliers and produce clear price comparisons, enabling the team to make purchasing decisions quickly and on a well-informed basis.
- You create purchase orders, check order confirmations, and ensure that agreements regarding quantities, prices, and delivery times are processed correctly.
- The follow-up of deliveries is partly in your hands: you monitor progress, flag delays, and liaise in a timely manner with suppliers and internal colleagues.
- You keep article and supplier data accurately up to date in the administrative systems. This allows purchasing, stock management, and service to rely on dependable information.
- You check stock lists, investigate discrepancies, and correct data where necessary. Your work helps to reduce shortages, errors, and unnecessary stock.
- Supplier evaluations are also part of your responsibilities. You gather the necessary information and translate it into accurate administrative follow-up.
Profile
- A bachelor's degree is a welcome asset; relevant experience as a purchasing officer, administrative officer, or procurement support officer can also substitute for that background.
- Accuracy is central to this role: you enjoy working in a structured manner, check details, and keep track of various follow-up points clearly.
- You work comfortably with modern IT tools and have a good knowledge of Excel and SAP. You familiarise yourself with new systems step by step.
- For contact with colleagues and suppliers, you communicate fluently in Dutch and English. A good basic knowledge of French helps you to communicate clearly in multilingual situations as well.
- You are reliable in your follow-up, ask questions when information is missing, and communicate in a timely manner when a delivery, order, or stock entry requires attention.
