Transport Specialist

Function

From the Roeselare-Mouscron region, you ensure that international shipments run as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. You combine operational follow-up with analyses, negotiations and optimisations. No two days are ever quite the same!

What can you concretely expect?

• Your manages and optimises international transport flows via road, air and sea transport, including parcel and package delivery.
• You always look for the best transport solution, taking into account costs, lead times, risks and service.
• You negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders and logistics partners on rates, contracts and transport conditions.
• You analyse transport costs, supplier performance and operational figures and translate these into concrete improvement actions.
• You verify transport invoices and ensure that all charged costs are correct.
• You ensure compliance with customs regulations and contribute to correct transport documentation.
• You keep a close eye on the transport market and monitor rates, available capacity and relevant regulations.
• You work closely with various departments, such as supply chain, warehousing, purchasing and finance, to keep the entire logistics chain running smoothly.

Profile

You are a analytical and results-driven professional with a passion for international transport. You enjoy thinking about how transport processes can be organised more smartly, efficiently and cost-effectively.

In addition, you recognise yourself in the following profile:

• You already have several years of experience in international transport or logistics.
• You know the world of road, air and sea transport as well as parcel delivery inside out.
• You have experience in supplier management, contracts and commercial negotiations.
• You enjoy working with figures and analyses and have a good knowledge of Excel. Experience with SAP BI is a welcome extra.
• You have a basic knowledge of customs processes and regulations, or are motivated to develop this further.
• Experience within an international production environment with multiple sites is a welcome bonus.
• You communicate fluently in the Dutch, French and English.
