Transport planner

Function

As Transport planner at our client in the region of Roeselare is never the same! You combine planning, transport and administration with a great many contacts with customers, suppliers and carriers. You ensure that aeverything runs smoothly and enjoys contributing ideas on the best logistical solutions.

What does your job actually involve?

• You will process orders and ensure that the necessary administrative follow-up is carried out correctly.
• You source suitable transport, draw up the planning and coordinate everything from A to Z.
• You coordinate loading and delivery times with carriers.
• You request transport prices, compare quotes and make the best choice.
• You maintain contact with carriers and ensure that everyone has the right information.
• You prepare transport documents and verify that everything is correct.
• You assist customers and suppliers by phone and e-mail.
• You translate information from the purchasing department into a practical and feasible transport solution.
• Where necessary, you assist at reception or support with general administration.
• You actively think about how processes can run more smoothly, efficiently and in a more automated way.
• In short: a versatile role in which you can perfectly combine organising, communicating and solving transport puzzles!

Profile

Our client in the Roeselare is primarily looking for someone with the right mindset: someone who happy to contribute ideas, take initiative takes and flexible is also the team fit they consider very important. You will therefore find yourself in an environment where collaboration, communication and getting things done are central!

Who are we looking for?

• You have experience in logistics, transport and administration.
• You speak Dutch, English, French and/or German (French and/or German don't need to be perfect, but you must be willing to speak them).
• You enjoy a dynamic working environment where there is always something to do.
• You are flexible and happy to step in when colleagues need help.
• You are not afraid to pick up the phone and get in touch with clients and carriers.
• You keep a cool head when things get busy and know what to prioritise.
• You are a real go-getter who is not afraid to speak their mind. You can handle a direct approach and are open to a healthy dose of pushback.
• You prefer to start a little later (9:00 or 9:30 – 17:30–18:00)

Do you already have experience in logistics, transport, planning or administration? Then that's a great bonus! If you have no experience, it is important that you speak Dutch, English, French and/or German fluently.

Organisation

Our client is a growing family-run business in the Roeselare area, specialising in bedding and roughage for animals, such as straw, hay and flax. Customers across Europe are supplied from Rumbeke: from stables and pet shops to large retail groups.

The team consists of a close-knit group of people who are keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. No rigid silo mentality; instead, working together to ensure the work gets done.
