Transport planner

Function

• You will be responsible for the day-to-day dispatching and scheduling of our drivers’ journeys and charter services.
• Planning tools hold few secrets for you. You manage drivers efficiently and ensure that all the necessary documents are available correctly and on time.
• You have a keen eye for logistics processes, both within and outside the department. You anticipate changes, respond to them proactively and make adjustments where necessary.
• Flexibility, the ability to improvise and a structured, methodical approach are among your strengths.
• As one of the key figures within our operational organisation, you will play an active role in ensuring it runs efficiently and help to further develop our organisation through new ideas and initiatives.
• Flexibility is a key word in this position, as you will work in a shift system (early and late shift) and in rotation with colleagues at weekends.

Profile

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in logistics.
• You have strong logical reasoning skills and adapt easily to unexpected situations.
• You have some initial relevant experience as a transport planner, dispatcher or in a similar logistics role.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and have a good basic knowledge of English and French.
• You are familiar with MS Office, and Excel in particular holds few secrets for you.
• You work in a structured manner, have strong organisational skills and are able to plan efficiently.
• You are assertive, able to cope with stress and know how to set the right priorities, even in a fast-paced environment.
• You are willing to work a two-shift system (6.00–14.00 and 14.00–22.00) and, together with your colleagues, take part in a rota for weekend work (approximately one in four weekends: Saturdays from 6.00 am to 2.00 pm and Sundays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm).
