Senior transport planner
Function
Where will you be working?
As a transport planner, you will be part of our planning team which is part of the logistics department. You will work in the planning department of our Antwerp site within a nice team, where you will ensure, together with your colleague planner and colleague order intake, that the cement reaches our customers on time.
You will report to the Head of Planning who is responsible for both Belgian and Dutch planning.
What does your work look like?
As a transport planner, you are responsible for the optimal execution of transport orders by our bulk trucks within the Benelux, exceptionally in northern France or the Ruhr area.
Working closely with Cementbouw bv's Dutch transport planners, you will ensure that all deliveries to customers are made at the right place and time.
What can you expect in your future job responsibilities?
- Generate optimal trip planning with efficient load factor,
- Taking into account customer requirements, staff and equipment availability,
- Knowledge of legislation relating to driving and rest periods and agreements made within the organisation,
- Correct input of transport data,
- Function as a first point of contact for in-house drivers and external contractors regarding driving instructions, incidents and leave requests,
- Alternating with your colleagues, you will fulfill on-call duties with telephone accessibility as the main requirement.
Your input is very important to us in this respect. We therefore encourage our people to actively think (and work) on improving applied planning methods and techniques.
Profile
Our ideal candidate
- You hold at least a Bachelor degree and have at least 3 years of road transport experience;
- You have knowledge of logistics processes, laws and regulations and have experience with a transport management system;
- You are stress-resistant and know how to keep a cool head in hectic situations and do not lose sight of your priorities;
- You are communicatively strong and value good cooperation;
- You enjoy working together in team and together providing the necessary customer focus;
- Good command of Dutch, French and English. Command of German is a plus.
Organisation
Our client produces and delivers all classic cements in Benelux and France from two locations. With two cement grinding plants in the port of Antwerp and in Rieme - Port of Ghent -, they have excellent locations that are both suitable for loading and unloading both barges and seagoing vessels. Global export and import of cement and raw materials at your fingertips. An important part of the logistics processes are carried out by the customer.
