Technical Estimator

Function

As a Quantity Surveyor, you are responsible for analysing and calculating a wide range of technical requests. You act as a key link between clients, suppliers and your internal technical and commercial colleagues.

• You will follow up on incoming price enquiries and analyse the technical requirements.
• You will prepare cost estimates and quotations based on plans, specifications and site measurements.
• You assess materials, work and costs accurately from both a technical and economic perspective.
• You monitor deadlines and ensure that quotations are submitted on time and accurately.
• If any information is missing, please contact clients, architects, engineering firms, subcontractors or suppliers.
• You will consult regularly with colleagues within the organisation and technical-sales staff.
• You will work closely with an experienced chief estimator who will mentor you in the role.

Profile

For this role as a Quantity Surveyor, we are primarily looking for someone with technical insight who enjoys working accurately with figures. Both entry-level candidates with the right technical background and those with relevant experience are welcome to apply.

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics or have equivalent experience.
• Some initial relevant experience in cost estimation or a technical environment would be an advantage.
• You are able to analyse technical drawings and specifications and translate them into an accurate cost estimate.
• You are analytical, meticulous and results-oriented.
• You have sufficient commercial acumen to draw up accurate and competitive quotations.
• You communicate easily with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of French is a plus.
• A good command of Dutch is essential.
• You are able to work independently and know how to prioritise when several deadlines coincide

Organisation

You will be joining an established engineering firm specialising in automated access solutions for buildings. The company develops, installs, maintains and modernises automated door systems for a wide range of professional applications.

The Belgian organisation has around 70 employees and is part of an international group that operates worldwide in the field of automatic access systems and electromechanical drive technology. Locally, there is a friendly and approachable working atmosphere, combined with the technical expertise and stability of a larger international organisation.

Offer

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll receive a remuneration package tailored to your experience. You’ll also work a flexible timetable, with every Friday afternoon off.

• Gross monthly salary ranging from €3,400 for an entry-level role to €4,000 for a role requiring experience.
• Meal vouchers of €7 per day worked.
• Eco-vouchers worth €250 per year, calculated on a pro rata basis according to the reference period.
• Commuting allowance in accordance with the scales set out in PC 200.
• A cycling allowance of €0.37 per kilometre.
• Four weeks’ annual leave, three weeks of which are fixed under the collective agreement.
• You will work from Monday to Thursday from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
• On Fridays, you work from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm.
