Technical Engineer

Function

As a Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for obtaining, managing and maintaining product certifications required to admit products to various markets. These certifications include thermal performance, fire reaction and fire resistance, environmental performance and mechanical properties such as load-bearing capacity and structural strength.

You will work closely with external test institutes, internal engineering teams and compliance specialists to ensure products meet all technical and regulatory requirements. In doing so, you combine analytical work, technical calculations and practical test support.

What will you do?

Certification & Testing (±60%)

• Liaise with external testing and certification bodies;
• Prepare, build and supervise product testing;
• Preparation of technical files and CAD drawings;
• Check mechanical and technical performance against requirements;
• Elaborate solutions to successfully achieve certifications;
• Manage external assignments and approve invoices.

Technical support (±25%)

• Support larger building and construction projects in which products are used;
• Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders;
• Solving technical issues during design and implementation phases.

Internal cooperation & development (±10%)

• Participate in international meetings and technical training;
• Travel within the organisation for consultation and support;
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the technical teams.

Audits & reporting (±5%)

• Support product audits in production environments;
• Provide technical data, samples and statistics to auditors;
• Preparation of monthly reports on progress and certification status;
• Report to management within established consultation structures.

Compliance & quality

Within this position, you will work in a highly regulated environment where compliance is key. International quality and compliance programmes, including ISO standards, are followed. All employees attend internal training and are responsible for complying with applicable procedures and guidelines. Results are monitored through internal audits and reporting to senior management.

Profile

• You have a master's degree in a technical field (preferably structural engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent);
• You preferably have initial experience in a technical or industrial environment;
• You are analytically strong and accurate in your work;
• You work independently and in a structured way;
• You have an interest in regulations, product quality and engineering;
• You communicate smoothly with internal and external stakeholders;
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch, English and French;
• Knowledge of German is a plus.
