Quality manager

Function

As Head of Quality, you will be responsible for maintaining, improving and further developing the quality management system within this company. You will foster a company-wide “quality first” mindset through cross-functional collaboration and training. You will lead a team of quality engineers and report directly to the Managing Director.

Your responsibilities:

  • All aspects of quality management (such as materials testing, metrology, in-process quality control, supplier qualification, audits and support in the field of quality management);
  • Strengthening and further developing the existing quality management organisation;
  • The organisation and preparation of factory audits, for example in accordance with ISO 9001, with the aim of implementing an integrated management system;
  • Documentation of internal audits and quality assurance activities;
  • Ensuring the quality of production and operational processes and of the end product, so that statutory requirements, customer requirements and internal company standards are met;
  • The planning, implementation and optimisation of quality strategies and quality management methods in collaboration with other branches within the group and with suppliers;
  • The implementation of improvement projects;
  • The further development and optimisation of the quality assurance system and associated processes;
  • The technical and line management of the quality department;
  • Developing technological expertise within the site through staff development and training in the fields of materials analysis, measurement technology, plastics processing and process optimisation;
  • Promoting data-driven quality improvement using KPIs, statistical analyses and risk-based thinking;
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement through performance monitoring and implementing targeted measures to reduce the costs of poor quality and increase customer satisfaction.

Profile

  • You have completed a technical engineering degree, preferably with a specialisation in quality management.
  • You have at least 5 years’ professional experience in quality management.
  • You have experience of change management and process optimisation (preferably with Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher).
  • You have experience in setting up and sustainably implementing modern quality management processes (production inspections, finished product checks, metrology and material analyses).
  • You are familiar with the requirements of ISO 9001 for management systems in a manufacturing environment and with all the elements of an integrated management system.
  • You have knowledge of relevant quality management methods and tools (such as FMEA, 8D reporting and SPC/statistical methods).
  • You have strong analytical skills, combined with a hands-on and solution-focused approach.
  • You have good communication and leadership skills and are strong at cross-functional collaboration.
  • A good command of Dutch is essential for this role; you must also have a good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
