Building & Utilities engineer
Function
- Management of buildings, utilities and air conditioning systems
- Co-developing process improvements and new projects + ensuring their practical implementation
- Realisation of projects and process improvements within Building & Utilities' predetermined budgets
- Independently subcontracting work under direction regarding buildings, utilities and air treatment systems, taking sign authority into account + checking and approving the invoices thereof
- Preparation of investment requests
- Supervise, inform and monitor hired staff for the department
- Management, monitoring, maintenance, knowledge transfer to Electrical Engineers, of utilities, alarm centres and air handling systems + associated administration
- Contacts with suppliers regarding technical information
- Actively participate in a continuous improvement process:
- Supporting, advising and proposing alternatives in the development of calculation requests, new projects and process improvements
- Analysing and making improvement proposals in problem situations
- Participating in the practical elaboration of new and improvement projects such as applying, elaborating and evaluating concepts and process improvements, co-creation of tools, parameters and machine processes
- Documenting tools, parameters and machine processes
- Helping to optimise reliability, cost control and efficiency
- Organising permanence in relation to monitoring and ensuring the continuity of Utilities
- Taking action (correcting, informing, shutting down machines,...) in case of abnormal quality or incorrect functioning of safety devices or machines. Particularly utilities-related.
Profile
- Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical engineering, electromechanics)
- Knowledge of refrigeration techniques
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position. Experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical sector is a strong advantage
- Is familiar and conversant with GMP guidelines, pharmaceutical guidelines, hygiene, etc.
- Experience with quality systems, procedures, training, etc.
- Can work with MS-office
- Good knowledge of Dutch/English (written and spoken) Knowledge of German or French is an advantage
- Experience in report writing
- Ability to think conceptually with solid (including technical) knowledge of and experience in project management
- Strong analytical thinking skills with a solution-oriented attitude
- Strong in planning and organising, with good cost awareness
- Good at time management
- Can work result-oriented with an eye for quality and a solid quality awareness
- Communicates fluently, both orally and in writing
- Driven personality with a positive, constructive and "open minded" attitude
- Can organise work independently, setting the right priorities, as well as working in a team
