Food Project Engineer

Function

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, analysing and improving production processes and plant within the food industry. You will work independently, either on site or from the office, and liaise effectively with fellow engineers and project managers on larger capital projects.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of technical projects within the food industry. Your duties will include:

• You analyse customers’ needs and translate them into feasible technical concepts.
• You will design and draw up technical plans using AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant3D and Navisworks.
• You will draw up drawings, specifications and quotations.
• You integrate supplier models into 3D designs.
• You will develop equipment and piping designs, including layouts, process diagrams and P&IDs.
• You will coordinate and monitor work on site, with a focus on safety, quality and progress.
• You will work closely with fellow engineers, project managers, clients and suppliers.

Profile

In this role, you will combine technical knowledge with the ability to work independently, strong communication skills and a proactive approach. You understand clients’ needs and know how to translate these into concrete and workable solutions.

In addition, you possess:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in (electrical) mechanics, mechanical design or a similar technical discipline.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer, Electro-Mechanical Engineer or in a similar technical role.
• Experience in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical or mechanical engineering sectors is a major asset.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant3D and/or Navisworks.
• A good command of Dutch and English.
• Knowledge of safety standards and experience in site supervision.
• An analytical and practical approach.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will be joining an independent consultancy and engineering firm that combines technical expertise, design and consultancy with innovative technology and software. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team within the Plant Engineering department in Belgium. You will be given a great deal of freedom to apply your technical expertise to challenging projects in the food industry.

• You will mainly be working on projects across Flanders. This means you do not need to be in the office every day. We are preferably looking for someone from the Antwerp, Limburg or Flemish Brabant region.
