Function
As Outside Sales Ocean Freight, you will be responsible for building and managing a customer portfolio, with a strong focus on offering tailor-made ocean freight solutions. From our Berchem office, you will play a key role in increasing market share by building long-term relationships. Your tasks include proactively acquiring new customers, strategically assessing customer potential, and offering innovative logistics solutions that meet customer requirements. Thanks to your extensive market knowledge and negotiation skills, you succeed in growing the business.
- Actively acquire and develop customers through prospecting and personal sales meetings.
- Assessing customer potential and preparing strategic offers.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships, focusing on trust and cooperation.
- Implement strategies aimed at growth and achieving sales targets.
- Accurately track sales activities in CRM systems (Sugar CRM).
- Offer customer-specific solutions through your in-depth industry knowledge.
- Managing risks and opportunities to safeguard the company's interests.d
Profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in the ocean freight industry and have the technical and commercial skills to operate successfully in a competitive market. Your communication skills and strategic insight are essential here.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position within ocean freight (import and export).
- Thorough knowledge of freight forwarding services, including consolidation.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict management, decision-making and strategic planning.
- Strong hunter's mentality with excellent negotiation skills and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to think outside the box and provide innovative solutions.
- Fluent command of Dutch, English and French.
- Integrity, strong work ethic, and a customer-centric approach.
