Vacancy

Receptionist bank

Location: Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium Specialisation: Finance Salary: € 2.800 - € 4.000 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 37.5 h/week Work ritme: 4/5, Day

Function

  • As a bank receptionist, you are the first point of contact for customers who walk in, call or have an appointment. You ensure that everyone feels welcome and is quickly directed to the right colleague.
  • Phone calls come through to you: straightforward questions you answer yourself, whilst specialist insurance or other substantive queries are correctly transferred.
  • You assist customers with day-to-day banking matters, such as opening accounts, collecting and sending files and completing the administrative processing of credit files.
  • Managing diaries, scheduling and following up on appointments are among your regular tasks. In doing so, you help customers and colleagues to navigate their working day smoothly.
  • You combine front desk duties with administrative support and practical follow-up. You keep multiple queries, documents and unexpected matters in hand simultaneously without losing your composure.
  • Walk-in visitors receive a professional and friendly welcome, even when several customers arrive in quick succession. You set priorities and switch quickly when the situation calls for it.
  • As the receptionist and administrative point of contact, you will support colleagues at the branch. If you have an interest in insurance, there may be scope to develop your knowledge in that area and make a contribution.
  • You will work full-time at the branch in Hasselt, during office hours. You will receive thorough induction training and have the opportunity to gradually take over the role from an experienced colleague.

Profile

  • A first experience in the banking sector is important, preferably in a reception, customer service or administrative role in which you came into contact with day-to-day banking matters.
  • You remain calm when phone calls, visitors, colleagues and administrative files all require your attention at the same time. Setting priorities and switching quickly help you to maintain an overview.
  • A reliable work ethic makes the difference: you see what needs to be done, take responsibility and handle confidential client information with care.
  • You communicate clearly, in a friendly and natural manner. This approach ensures that customers feel heard and that colleagues can count on accurate information and follow-up.
  • You are open to training and guidance and enjoy learning. A solid foundation in administration is sufficient to get started; the specific working methods and systems will be taught during your induction period.

Organisation

At this office, personal contact, quality, and genuine attention are central. Clients can walk in or call without any barrier, and time is deliberately taken to listen carefully and think along with them. The team opts for collaboration and trust, with colleagues who strengthen one another rather than compete.

The team is stable, collegial, and built from a great mix of ages and personalities that complement each other well.

Today the focus remains strongly on private individuals and self-employed clients, alongside an already broader client portfolio towards businesses. The office aims to develop that mix further towards a more balanced 50/50 split and offers a comprehensive range through various insurers, providing variety and substantive diversity.

Offer

  • A gross salary of approximately €3,000 to €4,000 per month, depending on your experience and relevant knowledge.
  • A comprehensive package of extra-legal benefits including group insurance, hospitalisation insurance, meal vouchers, eco-vouchers, an end-of-year bonus and a commuting allowance.
  • A mobile phone subscription is included.
  • A company car is not a standard part of the package; for an exceptionally strong profile, this may be open to discussion.
  • A full-time position in Hasselt, with attendance during office hours.
  • Working from home is not provided for this reception role, as your presence makes the difference for customers and colleagues.
  • A working pattern of approximately 8.30 to 12.30 and 13.30 to 17.05; telephone availability runs during the designated office hours.
  • You can plan your leave in consultation with the team. Preferred dates are generally respected, and during absences, colleagues ensure continuity of work.
  • You will join a stable, people-oriented branch where personal contact, collaboration and trust are more important than internal competition. You will receive guidance during the handover and have room to further develop the role.
