Dispatcher
Function
As Dispatcher Transport You’ll be part of an enthusiastic dispatch team of six colleagues. You’ll be a key link between drivers, planners, customer service and internal departments.
No two days are the same: you’ll keep an eye on transport operations, step in where necessary and ensure that journeys run as smoothly as possible.
Your range of tasks:
- You follow the start of the journeys and ensures that drivers set off on time
- You monitor the progress of the deliveries
- You’ll be in daily contact with drivers and will help them with questions, problems or unexpected situations along the way
- You will monitor urgent shipments and ensure that they on time and correctly are to be supplied
- You will work closely with planning, customer service and other internal services
- You’ll ensure a smooth flow of information between drivers and colleagues
- You follow waiting times, performance and deviations and contributes ideas on possible improvements
- You ensure correct administrative follow-up of journeys and daily checks
Profile
Who are you?
- For this role, we are looking for someone who has strong communication skills, enjoys solving problems and doesn’t lose their cool easily
- Ideally, you will have some initial experience in transport, logistics or an operational environment. You’re welcome even if you have no experience
- You are stress-resistant and keeps track of things when several things are happening at once
- You’re quick on the uptake and think on your feet solution-oriented
- You take the initiative when unexpected situations arise
- You communicate fluently and professionally with drivers, colleagues and customers
- You work precise and structured
- You’re flexible and feel at home in a dynamic environment
- You are willing to work in 2 teams work
- early shift 6am–2pm
- late shift 14:00–22:00
Organisation
Our client is a European specialist in transport and logistics for foodstuffs requiring temperature-controlled conditions. Based in Oostkamp, you’ll work alongside around 300 colleagues to ensure smooth distribution both at home and abroad.
