Location: Wuustwezel, Antwerp, Belgium Specialisation: Logistics Salary: € 3.000 - € 4.500 bruto / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

We are looking for a candidate for a stable and growing family-run business in the Wuustwezel area dispatcher who helps to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day planning and coordination of drivers and equipment. In this role, you will act as a key link between site managers, project managers, drivers, subcontractors and other stakeholders, ensuring that operations run smoothly, efficiently and according to plan.

You are responsible for ensuring the tight and realistic scheduling of staff, vehicles and machinery, including special transport and low-loaders. You monitor work orders and project information, adapt quickly to changes or unforeseen situations, and ensure that the right resources are available at the right time. In addition, you will carry out the necessary administrative follow-up to ensure that the schedule remains accurate and clear at all times.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • receiving and analysing work orders and project information;
  • the planning and coordination of drivers, cranes, vehicles and other equipment;
  • contacting and liaising with subcontractors;
  • applying for permits for exceptional transport;
  • resolving operational issues and dealing with urgent situations;
  • maintaining clear communication with site and project managers;
  • the accurate recording of planning, deployment and progress.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced dispatcher with a strong aptitude for planning, organisation and coordination. You must have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction sector, where you are used to adapting quickly and making the right decisions under pressure.

You combine a structured approach with smooth communication and are adept at dealing with a variety of people. You are assertive, commercially minded and solution-oriented, and you have the persuasive skills needed to deploy people and resources efficiently. You are also meticulous, flexible and able to cope well under pressure, with an eye for both the operational and administrative aspects of the role.

You’ll also recognise yourself in the points below:

  • at least 3 years’ relevant experience as a dispatcher;
  • strong communication skills and a smooth, clear way of working;
  • strong negotiation skills and the ability to set priorities quickly;
  • You are able to work independently and maintain an overview in a dynamic environment;
  • you’re a problem-solver and think ahead;
  • you are willing to respond flexibly to unexpected changes or urgent enquiries;
  • construction leave is no problem for you;
  • You work with precision and ensure your administrative work is accurate.

Organisation

This earthworks company was founded in 1978. Whilst earthworks formed the core business in the 1980s, the company decided to expand its range of services in the early 1990s to include infrastructure works and, later, demolition works.

In response to the demands and needs of the chaotic construction market, our client has also begun to specialise in the recycling of rubble. Together, these pillars form a rock-solid combination with a unique synergy, resulting in a large number of satisfied clients throughout Belgium.

The company was growing rapidly, but its culture remained essentially the same: a family-run business that cares deeply for its staff, suppliers and clients, and where collegiality, communication and experience are key.

Offer

You can expect a competitive salary, commensurate with your experience and level of responsibility. In addition, this role offers an attractive package of fringe benefits and the opportunity to work in a close-knit environment that values stability, teamwork and mutual respect.

The range includes, amongst other things:

  • salary based on experience;
  • meal vouchers;
  • ecocheques;
  • 12 ADV days;
  • mobile phone with a contract;
  • car negotiable;
  • a permanent, responsible role within a close-knit team.

Diversity and inclusion are important to CTRL-F.
Whoever, whatever or however you are or what you stand for, it is your talents that make the difference.
