Dispatcher

Function

• Responsible for traffic management, dispatching, monitoring shipments and communicating with drivers.
• Maintaining operational and commercial contact with customers by telephone and email.
• Receiving, processing and scheduling transport orders.
• Providing administrative support to the planning department.
• Taking part in an on-call rota during nights and weekends (once every five weeks), following an in-house training programme lasting at least three months.
• Providing accurate and timely feedback to customers, both by telephone and via customer-specific software, whilst always maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Profile

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Forwarding, Distribution and Transport, or are willing and able to acquire this knowledge in the short term through an in-house training programme.
• You have an excellent command of Dutch and a good knowledge of French and English.
• You are quickly able to familiarise yourself with common PC applications, including the Microsoft Office suite.
• You are keen to work continuously with senior management and your colleagues to improve the quality and optimise transport operations.
