Calculator infra
Function
How does an infrastructure dossier receive an accurate price?
- As an Infra Cost Estimator, you translate tender documents, plans, bills of quantities and technical specifications into clear cost calculations for infrastructure works.
- You contribute to the technical and financial preparation of a large-scale infrastructure project in the Brussels region, based in Zaventem.
- Requesting, comparing and critically assessing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors forms an important part of your work.
- By comparing different execution methods side by side, you identify opportunities to better align quality, planning and budget.
- You identify risks, opportunities and missing information in a timely manner, so that the pricing remains substantiated and realistic.
- You provide support in drawing up tenders, estimates and budgets, and ensure that technical choices are also financially clear.
- In consultation with project management, work preparation, procurement and execution, you translate your analyses into a dossier from which the works can be properly prepared and started.
- You monitor relevant market prices, material developments and new techniques, and in doing so build up expertise step by step as an infrastructure works cost estimator.
Profile
Are you analytically strong and technically grounded?
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, industrial sciences or a similar technical field.
- You have at most a few years of experience as a cost estimator, quantity surveyor, project engineer or in a similar role within construction, infrastructure or road building; a strong graduate with a relevant qualification is also welcome.
- Analysing figures, plans and technical details comes naturally to you: you work with precision, verify your calculations and at the same time maintain an overview of the entire project.
- A basic knowledge of infrastructure, road construction or civil works helps you to interpret information quickly and correctly, and to ask targeted questions.
- You communicate clearly and enjoy working with internal and external partners, because a strong cost calculation is built by actively gathering information and sharing insights.
