Tender Engineer Civil Works
Function
How do you translate a tender dossier into a winning bid?
- As a Tender Engineer Civil Works, you help determine how complex civil projects become technically, financially and organisationally feasible. You work from Neder-over-Heembeek within a construction organisation that realises and renovates tunnels, bridges, hydraulic structures and industrial projects.
- Thoroughly analyse specifications, plans, bills of quantities and contract documents. You identify risks, points of attention and optimisation opportunities before a tender is prepared.
- Translate technical information into a well-founded cost price. You combine quotes from suppliers and subcontractors with the estimate of own works, site costs and profitability targets in KPD BouwOffice.
- Work together with internal experts on construction methods, planning, quality, BIM, stability, concrete, asphalt, surveying and soil improvement. This results in a proposal that is not only competitive, but also realistically executable.
- Together with the tender team, draw up a clear plan of approach and a feasible project schedule. You make technical choices understandable for various counterparts and monitor the coherence between scope, price, timing and risks.
- Participate in consultations with clients, engineering firms, subcontractors and suppliers. During substantive discussions, you represent the tender strategy with strong arguments and a sharp eye for commercial opportunities.
- Finalise the definitive tender with the necessary price analyses, overviews and appendices. Upon award, you check the contractual documents and ensure a complete handover to the site team.
- As a tender engineer, you make a visible difference even before the site begins. Your preparation helps lay the foundation for safe execution, correct margins, clear agreements and a smooth realisation.
Profile
Are you technically strong and commercially grounded?
- You hold a degree in civil engineering or a similar qualification.
- You bring approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, for example as an estimator, work preparer, tender engineer or technical employee at a contractor. Experience with large civil or infrastructure projects is a clear added value.
- You are able to analyse technical files and convert them into concrete estimates, construction methods and schedules. Knowledge of KPD BouwOffice and MS Project is welcome, but above all your willingness to learn systems thoroughly counts.
- A structured and precise working style helps you to organise large amounts of information without losing sight of details or deadlines. You think critically, ask targeted questions and look for feasible improvements.
- You communicate convincingly with technical and commercial counterparts and work constructively with various disciplines. For contacts within a diverse project environment, it is useful to be able to express yourself professionally in Dutch and to be able to consult in French and English as well.
