Function

As Calculator Infra You will be responsible for preparing and finalising cost estimates for earthworks and hydraulic engineering projects. You will translate technical plans, bills of quantities and specifications into a well-founded and market-competitive quotation, with a focus on feasibility, quality and optimisation. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from operations, procurement and other relevant departments to ensure that each project is managed correctly, on time and in full.

Your duties will include:

• the collection, analysis and interpretation of project information such as plans, technical specifications and bills of quantities;
• drawing up clear cost estimates and calculating realistic unit costs;
• requesting and processing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors;
• aligning your cost estimates with the schedule, implementation method, choice of materials and quality requirements;
• contributing ideas on alternatives, optimisations and practical improvements;
• submitting dossiers on time and ensuring they are properly followed up during the tendering process;
• supporting the handover from cost estimation to implementation following the award of the contract;
• maintaining contact with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth project launch.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an analytical and motivated candidate with an interest in construction, infrastructure and technical project preparation. You do not need to have years of experience: entry-level candidates with the right foundation and a healthy technical curiosity are also welcome to apply. A degree in a technical or construction-related field is an advantage, for example Civil Engineer (Structural Engineering), Industrial Engineer Construction or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

Your profile:

• you have experience or are an eager learner just starting out with a relevant interest;
• you have a clear affinity with construction, infrastructure, earthworks and hydraulic engineering;
• you work accurately, in a structured manner and with an eye for detail;
• you are comfortable working with figures, technical drawings and documentation;
• you have a solution-oriented mindset and are not afraid to put forward suggestions that make projects more efficient;
• you communicate professionally in Dutch and have a basic knowledge of English and French;
• You are a team player who also takes responsibility independently and meets deadlines;
• Experience with cost estimation, project preparation or construction software is an asset.
