As Earthworks Calculator at Stabroek You will play a key role in the preparation of challenging earthworks and hydraulic engineering projects. You will translate technical information into a well-thought-out and market-driven cost estimate, with a focus on feasibility, quality and optimisation.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from the operations, procurement and other relevant departments. In doing so, you will combine accuracy with creative input and a keen interest in technical solutions.
Your duties and responsibilities:
- You will collect and analyse all relevant project information, such as bills of quantities, tender documents, plans and technical specifications.
- You will carefully compile quotation documents and translate the client’s requirements into a clear and realistic cost estimate.
- You request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and incorporate these into a comprehensive project budget.
- You tailor your cost estimate to the schedule, implementation methods, choice of materials and quality requirements.
- You actively contribute ideas on alternatives, optimisations and practical improvements.
- You must submit files in a timely and complete manner and assist with further follow-up during negotiations.
- Once the contract has been awarded, you will monitor the project’s progress and liaise with those responsible for its day-to-day operations.
- You will help ensure a smooth handover from the estimation phase to the execution phase, ensuring that agreements are correctly followed and that progress is accurately monitored.
You’ll be working in an environment where technology, teamwork and development are key. You’ll be given the opportunity to grow, undertake training and further develop your expertise within a stable and people-focused organisation.
