That ideal Calculator is someone who, with sharp insight and a critical eye, lays the foundations for challenging construction projects. You’ll be joining an enthusiastic team of 10 colleagues and will help work on complex projects in sectors including industrial and public construction, such as schools, sports complexes and head offices. Everything with a touch of flair.
In this role, you will translate project files, plans and specifications into accurate cost estimates and well-founded quotations. In doing so, you will not only ensure the figures are accurate, but also contribute ideas on the implementation method, feasibility and quality of the end result.
- You will carry out a thorough analysis of construction files, plans, bills of quantities, specifications and terms of reference.
- You will prepare cost estimates and draw up quotations for a range of projects, from public sector contracts to more complex turnkey projects.
- You identify ambiguities, errors or missing information in files and actively follow these up.
- You request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and compare the content of the quotes received against the tender specifications.
- You will contribute ideas on alternative implementation methods and investigate what is technically and practically feasible, possibly following a site visit.
- You will ensure the quality and completeness of the quotation right through to its handover to the project implementation team.
- You liaise with project managers and fellow cost estimators and communicate clearly with internal and external partners.
You’ll be given the opportunity to help build projects where precision, insight and collaboration make all the difference.
