After-Sales Manager

Function

As After-Sales Manager You will manage the after-sales service in terms of both content and operations. You will take on a coaching role within a team responsible for spare parts, service enquiries, maintenance and repairs. You act as the link between customers, technical teams and internal departments, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently, accurately and with a focus on customer satisfaction.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, set priorities and translate the needs of clients and the organisation into efficient planning and clear working arrangements. At the same time, you will play an active role in the further development and professionalisation of the department, with a focus on quality, service and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Take charge of the day-to-day management of the after-sales team and ensure the efficient organisation of day-to-day operations.
• To guide, support and motivate staff in their work, with a focus on collaboration, development and responsibility.
• Setting priorities, allocating tasks and making the best use of resources within a dynamic environment.
• Coordinate the sale and tracking of spare parts and handle service enquiries in a customer-focused manner.
• Plan, monitor and coordinate maintenance, repair and intervention work with internal stakeholders.
• Correctly assess and follow up on warranty claims, maintenance contracts and technical files.
• Help analyse technical faults, malfunctions and quality issues, and implement the necessary measures internally.
• Draw up and monitor cost estimates, maintenance instructions and lists of recommended spare parts.
• To actively contribute to the further professionalisation of the service and to report to the managers.

In this role, you will combine people management, technical expertise and a customer-focused approach. You will be given the opportunity to help shape the direction of a department that has a significant impact on service quality and customer satisfaction.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced professional with a strong technical background, a natural leadership style and a clear focus on service. You will feel at home in an environment where coordination, responsibility and technical follow-up are key.

Your profile:

• You have 5 to 10 years’ experience and, ideally, a background as an After-Sales Manager, Service Manager or in a technical role, preferably in the automotive sector.
• You obtained a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field.
• You have a strong interest in (automotive) engineering and can easily read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams; knowledge of PLC logic is an advantage.
• You have demonstrable leadership and coaching skills and knows how to engage staff in change and improvement.
• You have a commercial mindset, are customer-focused and always keep the importance of providing an accurate and professional service at the forefront of your mind.
• You have strong organisational skills, work in a structured manner and maintain a clear overview in an environment with multiple projects and priorities.
• You can work smoothly with various internal departments and external contacts.
• You communicate clearly and energetically in Dutch and can also express yourself fluently in French and English; knowledge of German would be an advantage.
• Short journeys, both at home and abroad, are no problem for you.

We are looking for someone who can both contribute to strategic thinking and play a hands-on role in the day-to-day running of the department.
