Procurement Manager

Function

As Procurement Manager You will take overall responsibility for the procurement policy and the further professionalisation of the procurement department. You will lead the procurement team, oversee the procurement strategy and ensure smooth collaboration between procurement, engineering, production and suppliers. In this role, you will combine strategic insight with a hands-on approach and play a key role in ensuring the continuity of the supply chain.

You will be responsible for both the day-to-day operations and the long-term development of procurement and stock management. In doing so, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and build strong relationships with external partners. You closely monitor market developments, price fluctuations and technological advances, and translate these insights into concrete actions and improvements.

Your duties will include:

• Managing, coaching and organising the procurement team, with a focus on planning, priorities and efficient collaboration.
• Helping to define and implement the procurement strategy, tailored to the organisation’s needs and the technical environment.
• Monitoring technical procurement files, ERP processes, stock management and strategic component groups.
• Negotiating prices, contracts and terms of delivery with suppliers.
• Selecting, evaluating and monitoring suppliers on the basis of quality, cost and delivery reliability.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements within procurement and stock management.
• Reporting to the managers and contributing ideas on structural optimisation and growth.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced and driven professional with a strong interest in technical procurement and supply chain management. You will hold a master’s degree, preferably in a technical subject, and have at least 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, ideally in an industrial or technical context.

You combine leadership maturity with an analytical and pragmatic approach. You are skilled at coaching, motivating and bringing people together, and you communicate effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers. In addition, you are a strong negotiator and are able to build and maintain long-term partnerships.

Your profile includes, amongst other things:

• A master’s degree, preferably with a technical background.
• At least 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management.
• Experience with technical procurement dossiers, supplier management and process optimisation.
• Leadership skills and a coaching style.
• Strong negotiation skills and a clear focus on collaboration and results.
• An analytical, meticulous and stress-resistant way of working.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English; knowledge of French and/or German would be an advantage.
• A hands-on approach and the drive to further professionalise procurement processes.
