Accountant A-Y

Function

As an AY Accountant, you will be responsible for a varied range of accounting tasks and will work closely with the Finance Manager and colleagues in the finance department.

Your responsibilities include:

• Processing purchase, sales and financial transactions
• Tracking supplier and customer accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other tax obligations
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual account closings
• Carrying out reconciliations and checks on general ledger accounts
• Support with audits and financial reporting
• Monitoring intercompany transactions within an international context
• Actively contributing ideas on how to optimise accounting processes and systems
• Act as the point of contact for accounting enquiries within the organisation

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an accountant who enjoys taking ownership and thrives in a wide-ranging financial role.

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accountancy and Taxation, or equivalent through experience
• Relevant experience in an accounting role
• Knowledge of VAT and Belgian accounting legislation
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Meticulous, analytical and organised
• Hands-on and willing to contribute ideas to the business
• A team player with a strong sense of responsibility
• A good knowledge of Dutch and a basic knowledge of English
