Head of workshop and logistics

Function

In deze veelzijdige functie ben jij de drijvende kracht achter de dagelijkse organisatie van het atelier, magazijn en de verschillende stapelplaatsen. Je combineert people management met logistieke coördinatie, materiaalbeheer en procesoptimalisatie.

Concreet mag je rekenen op een gevarieerd takenpakket:

• Organisatie & beheer: Je neemt de organisatie van het atelier, magazijn en de stapelplaatsen voor jouw rekening. Ook het onderhoud en de materiaalstromen volg je nauwgezet op.
• Transport & planning: You coordinate the transport of equipment and materials to the various sites and ensure that everything arrives at the right place on time.
• Stock management: You monitor stock levels, place orders and follow up on the receipt and issue of materials.
• Purchasing & materials management: You are responsible for the purchasing, inspection and monitoring of work equipment, consumables and small machinery.
• People management: You manage a team of workers, including drivers, warehouse staff and mechanics. You motivate and coach them and support them in their day-to-day activities.
• Safety & prevention: Together with the prevention adviser, you oversee the HSE policy and ensure that safety, quality and environmental rules are complied with correctly.
• Process optimisation: You actively contribute ideas on more efficient logistics and production processes. In addition, you monitor the waste and environmental policy across the various sites and ensure compliance with the applicable legislation.
• Digitalisation & ERP: You use the ERP system for material management and inventory and actively contribute to the further digitalisation of processes.

Profile

For this role we are looking for an organisationally strong and hands-on professional who enjoys taking responsibility and draws energy from managing people and processes.

In addition, you recognise yourself in the following profile:

• You have a Bachelor's or graduate degree, preferably in construction, site management or logistics. Experience equivalent to a qualification is of course also considered.
• You hold relevant certificates in the field of environment and/or safety.
• You have experience managing and coaching teams. You combine a natural leadership style with a hands-on mentality and technical insight in a construction or site environment.
• You are resilient under pressure, flexible and able to set the right priorities even in busy situations.
• You think analytically and solution-orientedly and are not afraid to make swift and well-considered decisions.
• You work accurately, take responsibility and have a strong awareness of safety. You actively promote the HSE policy.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and can also express yourself well in French and English.

Our client is a 5th-generation West Flemish family business with over 135 years of experience within their sector.

With a team of around 50 employees - consisting of white-collar workers, labourers and a permanent group of subcontractors - they combine craftsmanship with a people-oriented approach.
