Head of workshop and logistics
Function
What exciting challenge awaits you at our client's Nieuwpoort region?
- You will organise and manage the workshop, warehouse and stacking areas (including maintenance and material flows)
- You are responsible for planning and coordinating transport of equipment and materials to sites
- You will ensure efficient stock management (ordering, receiving and issuing)
- You manage the purchase, inspection and follow-up of work equipment, consumables and small equipment
- You manage a team of workers (drivers, warehousemen and mechanics) and coach them in their daily work.
- You will work closely with the prevention adviser and oversee the HSE policy and compliance with safety, quality and environmental regulations
- Furthermore, you optimise logistics and production processes, manage waste and environmental policies at all sites and ensure correct compliance with legislation
- You will work with the ERP system for materials management, inventory and digitisation of processes
Profile
Who are you?
- You have a Bachelor or Degree (or equivalent through experience) preferably in construction, site organisation or logisitek
- You have relevant environmental and/or safety certificates
- You have experience in managing and coaching teams and combine leadership with a hands-on mentality and technical understanding of construction and site environments
- You are stress-resistant, flexible and strong in setting priorities
- You think analytically and solution-oriented and make quick and thoughtful decisions
- You work accurately, take responsibility and have an eye for HSE aspects that you apply consistently
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and have a good knowledge of French and English

Our client is a 5th-generation West Flemish family business with over 135 years of experience within their sector.
With a team of around 50 employees - consisting of white-collar workers, labourers and a permanent group of subcontractors - they combine craftsmanship with a people-oriented approach.
