As Legal Counsel, you are responsible for providing legal support to the business in all areas, especially in the execution and tender phases of projects. You screen specifications and contracts for legal risks and are strongly involved in the projects in progress. You are also willing to take on a coaching role towards your colleagues on the construction sites. You follow up on ongoing court cases and court expertise, providing direction to appointed lawyers. You are involved in drawing up and negotiating various types of agreements, both with clients and with subcontractors, suppliers and other third parties. You coach and direct the Legal Assistant where necessary.

For our client, we are looking for an experienced legal professional to join their Legal team. As Legal Counsel, you are responsible for providing legal support to the organisation in all areas. You are a coaching force for your colleagues and you know how to articulate complex legal issues in a clear way. You work alternately in Neder-Over-Heembeek and Sint-Truiden.

• Master's degree in law from a Belgian university.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the legal profession or another relevant industry (e.g. construction, property development, notarial practice, ...).
• Team player, but equally able to tackle and structure his work independently, recognising the necessary priorities.
• Experience with (or an aptitude for) coaching employees.
• Fluent and communicative, and able to translate an at times complex subject matter into clear and to the point advice to a diverse audience.
• Dutch-speaking with knowledge of French and English.
• Willing to work in our offices in Neder-Over-Heembeek and Sint-Truiden, and also willing to do site visits.
