Workshop manager

Function

As Workshop Manager, you are the central point of contact within the workshop and service department. You combine technical expertise with organisational talent and know how to keep a perfect overview of planning, quality and execution.

This position offers a nice mix between administration and hands-on technical work:

• about 50% coordination & administration
• about 50% actively participating in repairs and finishing of new construction projects

Your responsibilities:

• Daily management of the workshop
  • You manage technicians with a focus on quality, efficiency and cooperation.
  • You accurately process and follow up work cards and administrative files.
  • You monitor the progress of the work and make adjustments where necessary.
  • You check executed works according to the applicable quality standards.
• Planning & organisation
  • You plan repairs, maintenance works and finishing projects efficiently.
  • You follow up warranty and claims files in consultation with customers, insurers and external partners.
  • You will ensure smooth staffing and a well-organised workplace.
• Technical support
  • During busy times, you actively jump in on the shop floor.
  • You carry out diagnoses and think along solution-oriented lines.
  • In time, you will grow to become the planner's backup and also support the telephone service to customers.
  • You will assist in the preparation of invoicing and administrative follow-up.
• Reporting & consultation
  • You help prepare work meetings.
  • You report on progress, planning and staffing within the workshop.

Profile

• You have experience in a managerial or coordinating role within a technical or automotive environment.
• You have technical knowledge of hydraulics and electricity.
• Experience with systems such as VSE, Haldex, Jay or Wabco is a great asset.
• You are organisationally strong and administratively accurate.
• You have a hands-on attitude and actively collaborate where necessary.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and have a basic knowledge of English and French.
• You are customer-oriented, solution-oriented and like structure and order.
• You enjoy taking responsibility and want to grow within a stable organisation.
• A forklift certificate is a plus or you are willing to obtain one.
