Site Manager Construction

Function

• As site manager construction, you take day-to-day charge of one or more sites and oversee the execution of the project from preparation through to completion.
• The planning, organisation and coordination of people, materials and subcontractors is in your hands, ensuring that work proceeds efficiently and according to agreement.
• You closely monitor progress, quality, safety and performance on site, and take corrective action as soon as risks or deviations arise.
• Thanks to your presence on the construction site, you translate project agreements into practical execution and keep all parties involved well informed.
• You maintain professional contact with the client, architects, suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments such as purchasing, concrete construction, asphalt and service.
• You address problems in a timely manner: you anticipate bottlenecks, find workable solutions and prevent minor deviations from affecting the planning or quality.
• With the necessary autonomy, you manage the site and report progress, points of attention and results to the project manager.

Profile

• A bachelor's degree in Construction, a master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience provides the foundation for making technical and organisational decisions on site.
• You bring 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a site manager or in a comparable role, making you familiar with the day-to-day reality of construction projects.
• A valid VCA VOL certificate is required; knowledge of site safety and safe working practices helps you to set clear agreements and follow them up consistently.
• You communicate clearly and collaborate smoothly with various parties. This is important because you are constantly liaising between employees, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• An independent, organised and results-driven working style, combined with initiative and sufficient adaptability, enables you to maintain overview even when circumstances change.
