Water Process Engineer

Function

As Water Process Engineer You will be the driving force behind the optimisation of wastewater, water treatment and water management within a leading environmental group. Through your incisive analysis of our water treatment plants, you will identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that significantly boost efficiency. Working from the heart of our organisation, you’ll support a wide range of sites and contribute to sustainability, environmental standards and cost-efficiency.

Your key responsibilities:

• Process optimisation: Monitor and improve the performance of water treatment plants.
• Integrated Water Management: Take control of all water flows at landfill sites and monitor their quality and treatment.
• Innovation: Help shape a forward-looking water strategy as a key figure within the innovation programme on Substances of Very High Concern.
• Projects: Responsibility from the concept phase through to the implementation of new water projects.

You will work closely with various internal departments, such as Infrastructure and HSE, and external partners to achieve high-quality, sustainable results.

Profile

We are looking for an experienced Water Process Engineer with a strong background in the environment and chemical processes. As an expert, you will have:

• A Master’s or engineering degree in Environment & Sustainability, Chemistry or Biotechnology.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience, with in-depth knowledge of water treatment techniques, environmental standards, permits and reporting.
• A structured and analytical approach, focused on transforming complex data into actionable insights and actions.
• The flexibility to switch between different locations and teams.
• A curious mindset: you actively keep up to date with new developments in the sector and are constantly learning.
• A good command of both Dutch and French.
