HSE Manager
Function
- You are responsible for the organisation’s overall Health, Safety & Environment policy.
- You will develop, implement and monitor the health, safety and environmental policy.
- You will ensure that the organisation complies with the applicable laws and regulations relating to safety, prevention and the environment.
- You will advise the board and management on HSE-related issues and act as a fully-fledged strategic sparring partner.
- You are regularly present on the shop floor and work with the operational teams to foster a strong safety culture.
- You will oversee risk analyses, audits, inspections and incident investigations, and translate the findings into concrete improvement measures.
- You will work closely with the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPBW) and maintain constructive relationships with the social partners.
- You will manage external partners on environmental matters and gradually build up the expertise needed to take on these responsibilities in-house.
- You will support the organisation with investment and change projects from an HSE perspective.
Profile
- Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in a technical field.
- Level 2 Prevention Adviser.
- At least several years’ experience in health and safety within a manufacturing environment; experience in the construction or chemical sector is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation is an advantage; a willingness to undertake the Environmental Coordinator A training course is important.
- You combine a strategic vision with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
- You communicate easily with both management and staff on the shop floor.
- You have strong organisational skills, are decisive and know how to get people on board with change processes.
- You speak Dutch fluently; knowledge of French and/or English would be an advantage.
