Function
As Team Lead – Permanent Night Shift at Roeselare At night, you’ll be managing the day-to-day logistics operations in an environment where timing, quality and collaboration must remain a constant priority. You’ll act as the linchpin between planning, the team, partners and management, ensuring that the night-time shift runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.
You combine coaching leadership with a hands-on approach and keep operations firmly on track. In practical terms, this means, amongst other things:
- you will lead, motivate and supervise a team of around 14 staff members, with clear feedback and a focus on growth;
- you organise the night-shift rota and allocation of tasks according to priorities, workload, absences and versatility;
- welcomes and trains your new staff, agency workers and students;
- you closely monitor productivity, quality and progress and makes prompt adjustments where necessary;
- organise your operational meetings with fellow team leaders and the team;
- you communicate your problems and exceptions clearly and makes decisions when the night calls for it;
- you maintain contact with temporary employment agencies, HR, the technical department and management;
- prepare your reports on surpluses, shortfalls, delays, complaints, staffing and other relevant night-time KPIs;
- you help to ensure safety, procedures, SAP Flux and quality standards;
- you contribute to improvement projects which make the logistics flow smarter, more stable and more efficient.
You work in an environment where no two nights are ever quite the same, but where you always ensure there is structure, clarity and a reassuring sense of control.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for someone with solid initial experience in people management, preferably within a logistics or operational setting. You feel at ease in a role where you have to ensure that people, processes and deadlines all work together seamlessly, without the night turning into chaos.
What you bring:
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience, with some proven experience in leadership;
- Proficiency in Dutch at a high professional standard, both verbally and in writing;
- strong communication skills to liaise with team members, fellow leaders, management, transport partners and other stakeholders;
- organisational skills and a good sense of priorities, planning and follow-up;
- resilience and flexibility, especially on a night shift when everything sometimes seems to be happening at once;
- leadership, assertiveness and a team-oriented approach in a healthy mix;
- the ability to make decisions independently and to show initiative;
- good knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is a definite plus;
- willingness to work regular night shifts and to be flexible within a variable working timetable.
You don’t have to be perfect at everything just yet, but you do need to be keen to take on responsibility, get people on board and make a difference night after night.
Organisation
Company information: This is a national player in the logistics sector, specialising in the coordination and distribution of time-sensitive deliveries. The organisation is responsible for the end-to-end management of a specific distribution flow, organising and monitoring daily deliveries via a network of external transport partners.
The activities include, amongst other things, operational planning, quality monitoring, data analysis and performance management. There is a strong focus on reliability, tight schedules (often involving night-time operations) and the continuous optimisation of logistics processes within a complex network of partners.
Offer
You will be offered a full-time contract of indefinite duration from 37 hours a week, with a fixed night rota of 5 nights a week within a system of from Sunday night to Friday night. Your rota is flexible and will be communicated to you in good time, so that you know when the night shift needs you.

- salary in accordance with PC 200, class D, taking into account all your relevant experience;
- 20% night shift allowance for work carried out between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am;
