Warehouse Team Leader – Permanent Late Shift

Function

As Teamlead Warehouse as part of our permanent late shift team in Asse You are the dynamic linchpin of the logistics process. You lead your team with a combination of clarity, structure and a healthy dose of enthusiasm, ensuring that day-to-day operations continue to run smoothly, safely and to a high standard.

You combine people management with operational oversight and ensure that priorities are clear, the schedule is on track and the workplace continues to run efficiently. In doing so, you keep an eye not only on productivity, but also on the working atmosphere, quality and cooperation between all parties involved.

Your role will be varied and challenging:

• You coach, support and motivate your team members in their day-to-day work.
• You give clear instructions and monitor progress to keep an eye on productivity.
• You will welcome and support new staff, agency workers and students.
• You plan the work sensibly, based on priorities and available capacity.
• You manage staff absences and adapt easily when the schedule requires it.
• You make operational decisions when problems arise and communicate them clearly to the relevant parties.
• You will help to ensure a smooth logistics process, including the calibration of machinery and the coordination of technical support where necessary.
• You will liaise with temporary employment agencies and agency staff.
• You will be responsible for overseeing logistics quality, procedures, reporting and improvement measures.
• You will ensure that safety standards, HR policies and quality procedures are strictly adhered to.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the shop floor. You’ll be the one who brings structure, helps people develop and ensures that everything stays on track, even at busy times.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team lead with a strong background in logistics or operations. You feel at home in an environment where pace, quality and teamwork go hand in hand, and you know how to get people on board without compromising on clarity.

Ideally, you will have the following:

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in people management, preferably within a logistics or operational environment.
• Strong coaching and leadership skills with a natural flair for leadership.
• Analytical insight and the ability to make quick and well-considered decisions, even when the pressure is on.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and French, both spoken and written, or a willingness to learn these skills.
• Strong organisational skills and a flexible attitude.
• A positive, assertive and team-oriented mindset.
• Experience with IT tools such as Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP is a nice bonus.
• A proactive approach to work and the instinct to take independent action when necessary.
• A hands-on approach and sufficient maturity to lead a team in a clear and people-centred manner.

Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is an advantage, but what’s even more important is that you can bring people together, manage processes and keep a clear overview when things are in full swing.
