Supervisor Warehouse Aalst

Function

As Supervisor Logistics in Aalst (East Flanders, Belgium), you will be responsible for independently organising and ensuring the daily operational activities within your warehouse department. In this role, you will ensure an efficient flow of goods and meet quality, throughput time, safety and environmental targets. You manage a team of two supervisors and a larger group of around 25 operational staff, and actively contribute to process optimisations and system transitions. You work closely with internal departments such as Quality, HSE and HR, and external partners such as transporters and suppliers, with regular reports to Operations Management.

• Managing and motivating team coaches and staff.
• Prepare and adjust operational schedules, including manpower and equipment planning.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards when carrying out work.
• Support the implementation of new processes and systems, with a focus on support and adoption.
• Evaluate performance, manage absenteeism and leave, and conduct development interviews.
• Create growth opportunities for talent within the team and encourage training and polyvalence.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and proactively suggest ways to improve processes and productivity.

Profile

To be successful as a Logistics Supervisor, you will have a strong mix of experience, skills and personality. The ideal candidate has:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent level through experience.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in a logistics environment.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; you motivate, inspire and persuade.
• Hands-on mentality combined with solution-oriented and creative thinking.
• Skills in change management and process optimisations; experience with system transitions is a big plus.
• Thorough knowledge of Office 365; experience with SAP is desirable.
• A strong focus on safety and environmental awareness.
• Good command of Dutch and English; additional languages are a plus.
• A dynamic, flexible and proactive working attitude.

Organisation

Our client in Aalst is the warehouse facility that employs 25 people. They handle the storage and distribution of parts for cars, boats, motorbikes and power products such as leaf blowers. The warehouse is part of a large European group that employs about 500 people in Belgium and is known as a strong player in the automotive sector.
