Transport planner
Function
Are you ready to take your organisational skills to the next level? As a Transport Planner (temporary assignment) in Oudsbergen, you will play a crucial role in the efficient organisation of national and international transport flows. You’ll be the central point of contact for processing customer enquiries into transport orders, planning daily line hauls to various European destinations and allocating assignments to approved carriers—either within existing rate agreements or via ad hoc requests.
Your duties will include:
- Converting customer enquiries into transport orders;
- The daily scheduling of line haul journeys to European destinations;
- Allocating transport orders to approved carriers;
- Monitoring the profitability of journeys whilst taking quality standards into account;
- Monitoring the progress of transport, including close follow-up with hauliers;
- Communication regarding dispatch status to Customer Service colleagues.
- Accurate record-keeping in the Transport Management System (TMS)
- Maintaining high data quality during planning processes
Your aim? To provide high-quality transport services that meet customers’ needs, whilst maintaining a constant focus on profitability and service quality.
Profile
For the role of Transport Planner at our client’s premises in Oudsbergen, we are looking for a candidate who recognises themselves in the following:
- Experience: 0–3 years’ work experience in transport planning or related logistics roles
- Language knowledge: Fluent in Dutch and English; a basic knowledge of French is required
- Knowledge: Understanding current freight rates, carriers and market links
- Soft skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, the ability to work under pressure and a customer-focused attitude
- Hard skills: Experience with transport management systems and accurate data processing
- Training: A degree in transport, logistics, supply chain management or an equivalent qualification
In addition, we value a proactive and flexible approach to work, where you will always work closely with your colleagues in Customer Service and the Key Account Desk.
