Transport & Customs Team Leader

Function

For our client in Bocholt We are looking for a Transport & Customs Team Leader. In this role, you will play a key part in the logistics operations of a high-volume production environment with strict quality and compliance requirements. You will be responsible for the smooth, accurate and efficient handling of transport flows, export documentation, customs files and excise administration. In addition, you will manage a small team and act as the point of contact for internal stakeholders and external logistics partners.

In this role, you will combine operational oversight with clear leadership and process monitoring. You will ensure that deadlines are met, that files are complete and error-free, and that the logistics processes are aligned with the needs of production, planning and administration.

Your responsibilities:

• Coordinating and monitoring national and international shipments, with a focus on export and customs.
• Ensuring the correct preparation and timely processing of export documents, customs files and excise declarations.
• Leading and coaching employees within transport and freight forwarding.
• Following up on transport planning, delivery reliability and operational priorities.
• Identifying deviations, risks and areas for improvement, and actively contributing to process optimisation.
• Monitoring compliance with legislation, internal procedures and quality requirements.

Profile

For the position of Transport & Customs Team Leader at our client’s premises in Bocholt We are looking for an experienced and capable professional who can easily bring structure to a complex logistics environment. You have a strong knowledge of transport, export and customs formalities, and you are in your element in a context where accuracy, follow-up and responsibility are essential.

Your profile:

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in transport, freight forwarding, customs or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of export processes, customs documentation and excise administration.
• Experience in managing, supervising or coaching employees.
• Fluent in communication with internal teams, suppliers and external partners.
• Practical knowledge of MS Office and common logistics systems.
• A bachelor's level of thinking is desirable, but relevant experience can underpin this.
• You enjoy working in a production-related context and understand the importance of compliance and timing.
