Technical Sales Manager

Function

As Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of an SME. You will act as the link between the management team, clients, staff, suppliers and subcontractors. This role requires a combination of technical insight, commercial acumen and leadership. You will work closely with the owner to further professionalise the business and drive its strategic growth towards B2B projects involving HVAC installations.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, amongst other things:

  • Coordinating day-to-day operations within the company, including planning, quality and profitability.
  • Managing clients and projects from the initial enquiry through to completion, whilst monitoring budgets, margins and quality.
  • Developing technical solutions tailored to customers’ needs, in collaboration with your team.
  • Drafting and negotiating quotations and managing customer relationships.
  • Managing technicians, project staff and subcontractors to ensure optimal collaboration.
  • Reporting key figures such as turnover and margins to the shareholders.

You will play a crucial role in the company’s strategic policy and help to further expand our B2B client portfolio.

Profile

We are looking for an enterprising candidate with strong technical skills who is ready to take on responsibility. Ideally, you will have experience in a managerial role within a technical sector.

What we expect from you:

  • A degree in a technical field (Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electromechanics, Energy Technology, Industrial Sciences, etc.), or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 to 10 years’ relevant work experience in a B2B environment within the HVAC sector.
  • Leadership skills and the ambition to take on a role with ultimate responsibility.
  • Commercial acumen and a customer-focused approach, combined with strong communication skills.
  • A hands-on approach and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Dutch; a basic knowledge of French and English would be an advantage.

Additional strengths, such as an affinity for finance or experience with technical design (e.g. drawing up plans for installations), are highly valued.

Organisation

Our client is an HVAC installation company specialising in energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air-conditioning solutions for both new-build and refurbishment projects.

The company handles the entire process: from consultancy and heat calculations to the installation and maintenance of heat pumps, underfloor heating and air conditioning, amongst other things. With a strong focus on bespoke solutions and sustainable technologies, they guide customers towards efficient and future-proof energy solutions.

They are also part of a wider group, which fosters close collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and provides added strength in projects and service delivery.

To support the company’s continued growth and professionalisation, they are currently looking for a technical sales manager who can act as the managing director’s right-hand person.
