Technical Writer

Function

You will build and manage a structured technical specification library so that products are correctly and attractively prescribed by architects, engineering firms and infrastructure players.

Technical analysis

• You will learn about the full product range in depth (materials, constructions, coatings, motorisations, safety components).
• You understand the technical connection between components and system structure.

Construction of system variants

• You model and describe product and system configurations.
• You determine technically correct combinations and system logic of components, fixings, foundations and safety options.

Writing out specification texts

• You develop clear, technically-legally correct specification texts according to applicable systematics.
• You translate standards, tolerances, performance and material specifications into structured documents and standard templates.
• You will be responsible for building out and monitoring the technical specification structure.

Digital specification library

• You will manage a digital database of product information, variants and versions.
• You guard the timeliness and correctness of data on prescribing platforms.

Support for prescribers

• You will liaise with engineering firms, architects and specifiers.
• You will provide technical support, communicate product changes and gather market feedback.
• You will provide technical files for sales, projects and tenders.

Profile

• Industrial engineer (electromechanics, structural engineering, mechanical engineering), bachelor of mechanical/structural engineering or equivalent through experience.
• Experience in a technical study service, work preparation, engineering or technical documentation.
• Knowledge of one or more areas such as specification writing, steel or metal structures, building or infrastructure products or mechanical systems.
• Strong technical understanding, structured and accurate with attention to version control.
• Analytical minded, independent and communicatively strong.
• Fluent written knowledge of Dutch; French is a plus.
