Technical Support Engineer
Function
As a Technical Support Engineer within the data centre division, you will be the technical point of contact for customers with complex issues. You will not only focus on general energy and smart building solutions, but will specialise primarily in the data centre range, such as UPS systems, power distribution, cooling and monitoring. With rapid developments in AI and data, this sector is very much in the spotlight and you can make a real difference!
Some of your key responsibilities as a Technical Support Engineer:
- Responding to technical customer enquiries (by telephone and email) regarding the data centre portfolio: from power distribution and UPS systems to cooling and monitoring;
- Analysing tender documents, plans and technical specifications for data centre projects and proposing the best technical solutions, tailored to the client’s requirements and budget;
- Preparing proposals: you’ll contribute ideas on configuration, technical capabilities, maintenance contracts and future-proof scalability – your advice supports clients in their growth, but you won’t be required to close deals;
- Independently preparing and handing over files to the sales or project teams, including ensuring they are correctly recorded in the CRM system;
- Identifying and logging technical issues, providing feedback to improve processes, and actively contributing to knowledge-sharing within the team;
- You will develop specialist knowledge of the latest trends in data centre infrastructure, AI and data-driven applications, enabling you to become a leading figure in your field.
Profile
We are looking for a customer-focused and keen-to-learn technical specialist with a strong interest in data centres and digital infrastructure:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a similar subject, or relevant work experience;
- An interest in the world of data centres, infrastructure for AI and data, and/or critical energy;
- Fluency in Dutch; a solid grounding in French and English is an advantage (we’re an international team!);
- Analytical insight: you can interpret technical diagrams and translate customer enquiries into appropriate solutions;
- Administrative accuracy, experience with CRM systems and MS Office;
- A customer-focused attitude and a spirit of teamwork. You enjoy helping customers move forward, without any commercial sales targets;
- A willingness to develop yourself, acquire new knowledge and grow alongside the sector.
Organisation
Our client is a leading international producer of energy and smart solutions, operating across the entire chain: from medium voltage, power distribution and data centre infrastructure to smart building technology. They continuously invest in innovation, growth and knowledge.
Offer
- Competitive gross salary depending on experience, complemented by extensive fringe benefits (meal vouchers, group and hospitalisation insurance, etc.);
- Induction programme with intensive coaching on the job (first months in the office, then 2 days a week working from home possible);
- Internal training and opportunity for advancement to various department or expertise roles;
- Dynamic teams in a leading international environment where open communication, autonomy and multidisciplinary collaboration are key.
