Function

As Purchaser at Hasselt You’ll be working on projects that are just that little bit more challenging than the average job. You’ll have a firm grasp of the procurement side of things, liaise smoothly with project teams, and ensure that materials, services and partners are available at the right time and under the right conditions.

You’ll find yourself in an environment where no two projects are really the same: from residential care and schools to flats and, in the meantime, also defence projects. In addition, there’s a project with a strong focus on substance that you can really get your teeth into. This means plenty of variety, technical complexity and procurement work where you can really make a difference.

Specifically, you can expect the following:

  • You will oversee the entire purchasing process, from the request for a quote through to the order and subsequent follow-up.
  • You will negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding price, quality, timing and terms and conditions.
  • You will liaise closely with project management and site management to ensure that requirements, schedules and budgets are perfectly aligned.
  • You will monitor delivery times, contractual agreements and the administrative follow-up.
  • You will actively contribute ideas on improvements to procurement strategy, pricing and supplier selection.
  • You maintain a clear overview in projects where detail, structure and speed are all equally important.

We are therefore looking for someone who is confident, enjoys contributing ideas and draws energy from projects with a clear technical and commercial dynamic.

Profile

For this role, our client is looking for a Purchaser with the necessary experience, preferably in an environment such as a main contractor or within the construction sector, where Class 8 projects are second nature to you. You therefore know the trade inside out and feel at home in an environment where speed, accuracy and coordination are key.

What you bring:

  • You have at least a few years’ experience in procurement, preferably in construction or technical projects.
  • You have experience with general contracting and larger-scale projects.
  • You are adept at negotiating, following up and organising your work in a clear manner.
  • You are a natural communicator and are able to switch effortlessly between different internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have a hands-on, solution-focused mindset and enjoy working with clear agreements.
  • You work meticulously and maintain a clear overview, even when dealing with several cases at the same time.
  • Experience with specific or technical projects is certainly an asset.

A degree in a relevant subject is a bonus, but your experience, maturity and aptitude for procurement carry at least as much weight.

Between the 4,000 and 6,000 euros, depending on experience and profile.

You will receive a meal allowance of 6 euros.

On top of that, there is a an expense allowance of 150 euros.

You’ll also get a a reliable car, with fuel card or charging card and, if necessary, a charging point.

Hospitalisation insurance included.

Group insurance from 4%.
