Vacancy
Technical Officer
Function
- Planning, executing and following up on preventive maintenance
- Analysing and resolving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
- Identifying the root cause of recurring faults
- Managing external technicians
- Monitoring the safety and reliability of the machinery
- Supervising the start-up, installation and commissioning of new machines
- Managing spare parts, technical documentation and hand tools
- Drawing up technical improvement projects
Profile
- A professional bachelor's degree in mechanics, automation, electronics or a comparable technical field provides a good foundation. More important than a specific study route is your ability to translate technical principles into practical solutions on the shop floor.
- You bring approximately three to five years of relevant experience in production, technical planning, work preparation, logistics coordination or a comparable environment. A solid first work experience is sufficient; experience with Exact is welcome, but you do not need to be tied to one specific system.
- Being able to read electrical diagrams and understand technical processes helps you to create realistic schedules and correctly assess bottlenecks. Experience with MRP, ERP or production planning is a clear advantage.
- Accuracy is essential: small errors in material availability, combinations or transport planning can affect the entire production process. You therefore work in a structured manner, follow up on agreements and maintain an overview when priorities change.
- You communicate clearly with production, project management, suppliers and logistics colleagues. In addition, you are willing to take on responsibility for multiple people and are open to evolving towards a two-shift operation, without permanent on-call duty but with availability to be the first on-site in an urgent situation.
Organisation
Our client is a growing manufacturing company specialising in steel solutions for self-storage. From their production site in Houthalen, they manufacture storage units for projects in

Offer
- A gross monthly salary within an indicative range of € 3,000 to € 3,800, aligned with your relevant experience, technical background and responsibilities.
- Meal vouchers of € 6 per day worked, supplemented by a group insurance and hospitalisation insurance.
- A full-time working week of 40 hours with a fixed day schedule from 8.30 to 17.00 and a half-hour lunch break.
- 12 ADV days per year, giving you additional recovery options within the working schedule.
- A workplace in Houthalen-Helchteren, in a production environment where metalworking, technical innovation and further automation are central.
- A role with room to grow: you can help build structure in planning and logistics, take on responsibility for multiple employees and remain involved in the evolution towards a more automated factory and a future additional production site.
